When we have a restriction in our body, our fascia becomes dehydrated, stiff, weak and stuck. Along with hydration and other healthy lifestyle choices, practising fascia focused Yoga we can change our connective tissue and restore our fascial fluidity.
During my fascia/yin yoga sessions you will learn some-help myofascial release techniques followed by some juicy melting stretches. In fascia/yin yoga, you are holding a posture typically for 3-5 minutes. The first couple of minutes you will be effecting the elastin fibres in your fascia, and beyond that the collagen. It takes time in these melting stretches to stimulate the body. Your patience will be rewarded with a soothed nervous system, more bound water in the connective tissue which will increase gliding action and range of movement. You will also gain a greater understanding and appreciation of your own body.
